May 12, 2009. #1. i have a 1988 johnson 88 spl outboard just did a compression check looking from the back of the boat both top cylinders are at 121 psi the right lower is at 116 the left lower is at 119 is this all normal boat runs great just figured i would do a compression test i hate doing them but please let me know it those sound good.Joined.
