I have the press with a metal 8 pt. starter die. I order one from Mec last week , but I received one of the new 6 pt starter crimp dies.Turn it around and look in the back,in the square main column you should see 2 threaded holes 1 empty and 1 with the bolt in it you saw from the front. Remove the bolt. Raise the center column to the empty hole. Re-install the bolt making sure the column is plum to the base. Set-up re-adjust the stations to produce a good shell. I picked up a Mec 600 Jr second hand. It came with an assortment of wads and Winchester AA hulls, the newer HS type. I have a few problems with my 600 Jr. I have loaded about 200 shells on it thus far. My recipe: cb 4118-12b Windjammer. 29 bushing drops 17.2 grains Hodgdon Clays. CCI209 primers. Winchester AA HS hulls..422 is #28 MEC bushing size #28 bushing is supposed to drop 25.5 Blue Dot, 19.1 Unique, or 19.8 Herco. All three of those are few grains high for 20 ga. 7/8 oz but the MEC chart is sometimes a bushing or two low.
