My buddies had a problem cycling at first but he just left the grease from the factory in it and started shooting it. Feb 9, 2008 · Problem solved. It appears that the inside of the eyelet of the carrier spring is worn or the post it sits on in the trigger housing is worn, maybe a bit of both. The result is a spring that will slide off the carry assy contact point after one or two discharges. The spring wedges itself between the carrier assy and the receiver wall cavity. Then jam city. Shells wouldn’t load easily using speed load and after I emptied it I stopped using it due to the difficulties getting it to load. Once home I tried to release the bolt while taking it apart and the carrier release button wouldn’t budge. Broke out the screwdrivers and took it apart from the bottom.I talked to Art ages ago when I picked up a shooter grade 16 from the 30's. He said that to properly convert a 2 9/16" gun to 2 3/4" is more expensive than most of them are worth. If you had a high grade 2 9/16" gun, the conversion would wreck the value.
