Ruger security 9 problems.

I just signed up. I own and have owned many Rugers; rifles, semi-autos and revolvers. Generally, I have been very pleased with their reliability and accuracy. I took delivery of a Security-9 last week and went to the range yesterday. It is the most inaccurate out-of-the-box firearm I have ever owned.3: Alternately, lock the slide to the rear, insert the mag and actuate the slide lock, letting the slide ram home. 4: If the problem persists, maybe some decent pics would help. Otherwise, unload it and take to a qualified armorer to diagnose if you dont feel competent to do so. My Security-9, was having an issue with the slide release - from the first day I used it. When I put a loaded magazine in, the slide would not release easily by pulling back and letting go as you normally do on semiautomatic pistols. This happened about 90% of the time.

I bought the Security 9 yesterday and have not fired it, cleaned it, oiled it, or anything. I have, however, run four magazines through and every round hangs up. Aug 20, 2017 · The trigger on the Security 9's is of the internal hammer type like on the LCP2 pistol, and it is very smooth. Reviews that I have seen all report that the trigger is about 5#. That was my main reason for finding a S9C rather than going with the new Max (striker fired). Great little 10 shooter!

Took it home, disassembled, cleaned, and lubed it. Took it to my range and put 36 rounds of FMJ through the two mags that came with it. The pistol had 4 major problems.
